Many clients of Camvista, are operating their CCTV network security cameras, to be monitored by Remote Alert, by utilising the latest 3G GPRS mobile phone technology. Allowing deployment of CCTV cameras in hours, rather than waiting for days, or weeks, to have a telephone line installed, and ADSL broadband enabled, before security cameras, to be used for remote security monitoring, can be installed and up and working in security mode.

GPRS 3G cell phone mobile technology, now available throughout the Uk, is extremely cost effective, and in most cases for Remote Alert customers, a cheaper and much easier option than installing a PSTN telephone line with ADSL broadband. Our Remote Alert online security camera monitoring solution works perfectly well with 3G and GPRS mobile Internet connections. Helping our Remote Alert clients to save money, for CCTV camera monitoring, by using the latest 3G cellular mobile phone technology available in the UK

One of our Remote Alert clients, who has been operating GPRS/3G mobile from a well known UK 3G mobile data network provider, for a Mobotix CCTV security camera, located at the gates of a disused factory in Scotland, required their high resolution Mobotix surveillance security camera to be monitored by using Remote Alert. Electric power was available at the `no longer` in use Gatehouse, overlooking the main entrance to the void factory, but the costs for the client to install a PSTN telephone line, and then ADSL enable it, was going to make their operating costs well over their security budget for this project.

After our recommendations, to operate their Mobotix CCTV camera, by utilising low-cost GPRS/3G cellular technology, our Scottish based client can now remotely monitor their megapixel Mobotix security camera by logging onto their Remote Alert account. Key members of Head Office staff, can now view recorded date and time-stamped snapshot images of all contractors, tradesmen and staff that are arriving and leaving their empty factory while carrying out essential maintenance work at their void factory. Giving them a detailed record of times of arrivals, and departures for contractors and maintence staff working at the empty and void factory.

Our Scottish based factory client, is not using Remote Alert as a frontline security system, to protect the currently empty factory, but as a secondary security solution that will assist them to monitor, day and night, all people arriving and leaving through the main entrance to the large void factory.

Already, their GPRS 3G Mobotix CCTV security camera, monitored by Remote Alert, has assisted them to dispute some invoices, that a Contractor had overcharged them for maintenance work being carried out, over a specific period of time, when their workers had not been in attendance for the stated days that was noted in their invoices. Another happy client seeing the full benefits of Remote Alert.

Slough based Accident Repair Centre, Caversham Coachworks, have been operating a Remote Alert security monitoring camera system, for over 6 months, overlooking their vehicle compound and car parking area at their business premises in the Slough Industrial Estate.. Managing Director, Ranjit Gill, was worried about the security of his 30 bay vehicle compound at the rear of of his Accident Repair Centre, as well as the staff car parking area, so he decided to look for a cost effective surveillance camera system that will allow him to remotely monitor, and record snapshot images of all vehicles, and cars, arriving and leaving through the one entrance area to the vehicle compound and staff car parking area. His main concern, was movement of vehicles at night times and especially during weekends.

After viewing a number of CCTV security camera solutions, with additional costs of having to buy expensive digital video recording equipment, to record footage of movement of cars and vans in his vehicle compound. Ranjit Gill was worried about the costs of buying expensive CCTV security camera equipment and DVR to monitor his Caversham Coachworks car parking area. Looking for a budget price security camera system, to allow him to monitor activity in his vehicle compound, Ranjit Gill did a Google search for `Remote Security Monitoring` and at the top of his Google search, saw a listing for Remote Alert Security Camera Monitoring on website Camvista.co.uk.

After reading about the Remote Alert features, and all the Remote Alert benefits, the Remote Alert prices were well within his budget price that he was expecting to pay for a security camera sysyem to monitor his car parking area. Plus, he would be able to view the security camera remotely, from his office, and his home, view all snapshot images saved over a 20 day period, from his user account on the Remote Alert web-interface, and not required to purchase addition digital video recording equipment.

To allow vehicle number plates, to be clearly viewed in the Remote Alert snapshot images, Ranjit Gill decided that a high resolution CCTV camera would be required to be installed at the rear area of his accident repair centre to capture all movement of vehicles, daytime and nightime, weekdays, and weekends. He decided for Camvista to install a high resolution outdoor static Mobotix megapixel network camera system to overlook the entrance area to his Vehicle compound parking area. Utilising the existing wireless connection, from the reception office at Caversham Coachworks, all the images from the Mobotix surveillance camera system are sent and saved on the Remote Alert servers. With a user name and password, Ranjit, and certain members of his staff, can log onto the Caversham Coachworks Remote Alert web-interface account and view the network security camera `live` or access all saved high quality snapshot images, over a 20 day period, to monitor all movement in and out of the vehicle compound.

Commenting on his Remote Alert camera monitoring system, Caversham Coachworks Managing Director Ranjit Gill said ” I’m very happy to be operating a Remote Alert security camera momitoring package. I was really delighted with the complete package price, including the Mobotix security camera and the installation price. Considering we’re now paying less than 36 pence, per day, to view our security camera live, as well as view all recorded snap shots for up to 20 days, it really is excellent value for money. The costs alone that I was quoted to buy a Digital Video Recorder, would allow me to pay for Remote Alert for over 10 years and still save money!!!! I now have peace of mind, that we’re making an effort to secure an area of our business premises, that I always felt made us very vulnerable, especially at nightimes and weekends.”

“I’m already recommending Remote Alert to some of my friends and business colleagues. It’s a really easy to use and simple to operate security camera monitoring system. As well as deploying Remote Alert for security reasons, I’ve also finding it very useful to monitor staff and customers arriving and leaving my accident repair centre. A little extra bonus of information that I wasn’t expecting to get from Remote Alert,” commented Managing Director Ranjit Gill.

Remote Alert is ideal, for Retail sector, Tourism and Visitor attractions, Bars and Restaurants who would like to manage customer throughput, indoors, or outdoors, at their business premises. For example, one of our first Remote Alert client’s, a small Jewellery shop in Edinburgh, purchased our Remote Alert security camera monitoring package, to allow management to monitor an indoor IP wireless security camera system, remotely. The Edinburgh based Jewellery shop, currently has a number of indoor CCTV security cameras in operation, with a security video recorder, where they can view all CCTV camera footage from videos 24 hours a day. However, their traditional CCTV camera system doesn’t allow them to view the cameras, or video footage, remotely, from a computer device.

By purchasing a Remote Alert IP wireless security camera, which took minutes to install, and operate from their wireless network already in operation in the Jewellery shop, management and owners can now view the wireless CCTV camera, remotely. By adding a monthly Remote Alert monitoring package, at a cost of only £10.00 plus VAT, management can now view all recorded snap shots, of visitors and customers who have visited the shop, remotely on computers. Allowing them to view any security incident, that might take place, without having to return to the Jewellery shop premises, to view the video footage from their current CCTV camera recordings.

However, after operating Remote Alert, for a number of months, they have found other business monitoring uses that have greatly helped to improve and increase their business activities at their Edinburgh Retail shop. Because a camera snap shot, is recorded on Remote Alert of every visitor arriving, and leaving their Jewellery shop, they can in seconds, with viewing their Remote Alert features, Motion Events Stats, monitor visitor and customer throughput. Allowing the shop owners, to manager customer throughput. The Remote Alert indoor wireless camera system, with many of Remote Alert features, has allowed the owners and managent of the Edinburgh shop to identify peak and low periods of visitors to their Jewellery shop. By viewing Remote Alert tool, Motion Events Stats, they can now monitor, busy and quiet times, throughout a week, day or hourly, in seconds, by logging onto their Remote Alert user account and viewing the image graphs that have been snapped by the indoor CCTV camera.

Already, Remote Alert has allowed them change staffing levels, to cope at times when the shop is always busy, at certain days, and times of the week, as well as cutting back staff hours at very quiet periods of days and times of the working week. Thanks to Remote Alert feature, Motion Events Stats, the managagement of the Jewellery shop has been able to make and improve crucial staffing level decisions thanks to Remote Alert. A great bonus, that they weren’t expecting to have, when they purchased their small indoor wireless security camera as well as their monthly Remote Alert recording package.

Remore Alert - A great monitoring tool to manage customer and visitor throughput.

Many Remote Alert customers, when purchasing our security camera monitoring package, request if our range of wireless CCTV network cameras will allow them to view car registration plates, in car parks, driveways, online, from our Remote Alert security camera monitoring application.

To show a working example, from a Fife based Taxi car company, of an IP security wireless camera in operation, overlooking the parking area where his taxi cars are cleaned and fuelled, the saved pictures clearly show a good view of the car registration number. The saved images have been taken by one of our wireless CCTV security cameras, Y-cam, which has a weatherproof housing for outdoor camera installations. In darkness, at nightimes, the security camera images will produce a different result because infrared led’s normally reflect on vehicle registration plates.

The quality of the two saved images are excellent, considering they’ve been snapped by a wireless CCTV security camera system priced just over £200.00. Many traditional CCTV security camera systems, with infared capability, and motion detection, would cost well over £1,000.00. This is also without the extra cost for camera installation and the purchase of DVR security monitoring systems.

Guideline price for Remote Alert wireless security camera, with motion detection and infrared - £151.00

To monitor the wireless security camera images, online, from a remote location - £10 per month (month to month, no long term contract)

Feedback from the Fife based Taxi owner has been extremely positive, as he was, prior to reading about Remote Alert, considering to purchase a wireless CCTV security camera system at the cost of over £1,000. This price did not include having to also buy a security digital video recorder to view all recorded camera images.

So far, total outlay has been £210 for the wireless YCam with outdoor housing, and he also signed up to the Remote Alert 100MB package @ £11.75 per month. Already, according to the Fife Taxi company, Remote Alert has already paid for itself, as the Fife Taxi owner has been enjoying a nice holiday, abroad, and is now more relaxed, than normal on holiday, as he is able to remote monitor, from his computer laptop, on the beaches of Spanish island, Majorca. From the feedback from the Taxi owner, his fleet of three taxis are still operating normally, and being cleaned and fuelled, by his taxi drivers, to the standard that he expects when he’s working at his taxi company in Fife. Another happy Remote Alert customer enjoying our security camera monitoring service from the beaches in sunny Majorca. His 2 week holiday was purchased from the savings that he made by not having to buy an expensive CCTV security camera and a DVR security recording system.

If we were looking through glass we would switch off the “Infrared LED Control” and switch on “Moonlight mode” This would give a good low light image at night.

Switching “Black and white mode” off gives a good low light colour image see below:-

Our suggestion is to play around with the setting at different times of the day and night to find which settings suits your required image using the built in Infrared LED Lighting on this wireless IP Camera, and on YCAM have launched the outdoor housing it makes the Knight and Black camera a lot more flexible. TIP Remember keep a note of settings and a snap shot to help to see best images.
